“THE GOOD PHYSICIAN
TREATS THE DISEASE.
THE GREAT PHYSICIAN
TREATS THE PATIENT
WHO HAS THE DISEASE. ”
SIR WILLIAM OSLER
ABOUT ME
I was recruited to Northern Nevada in 2020 to work for a large dermatology practice during which time I fell in love with our area. We have the kindest and most down-to-earth people living in the most beautiful place in the United States. I knew that I could offer more to our community by starting my own private practice dermatology office where I could provide high-quality and personalized care.

EXPERIENCE
I am a double board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon. As such, I have extensive training in dermatology and in dermatologic surgery. I specialize in skin cancer diagnosis and evaluation but also treat the huge breadth of dermatology needs and concerns of all patients.
I am unique in the Northern Nevada area as the only independent and 100% physician-owned practice with a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. After my residency, I completed a fellowship year of surgical training to perform Mohs micrographic surgery. During that year alone, I performed or assisted with >2000 Mohs surgery cases.
Mohs surgery is a technique where a skin cancer is removed leaving as much normal, healthy skin behind as possible. After the tissue is removed, it is processed in a lab and made into slides that I then examine under the microscope. I process your tissue in such a way that I evaluate 100% of the edges of the tumor. This extensive examination of the removed tissue is what gives Mohs surgery it's extremely high (>99%) cure rate. If, after the first round, all of the tumor has been removed, the surgery is completed; however, if there is tumor identified on the slides, then another piece of skin is removed from the patient and processed in the lab. After it is determined that the tumor is gone, I am highly skilled in the reconstruction or putting in sutures to give you the best cosmetic result possible.

Aside from practicing medicine, I am very active in our local, state and national medical societies. I am on the Board of Directors for the Washoe County Medical Society. I also serve on committees with the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the American College of Mohs Surgery. This service to the greater field of medicine allows me to give back to our community in a meaningful way. I have also given lectures at national dermatology meetings. The photo to the right shows me on the podium at our national meeting in Denver in October of 2022 where I gave a lecture on advocacy in dermatology.

My skills and training make me an expert in the identification, diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. My practice is a local small-business, which gives me the freedom to provide you with the care that you deserve. I would be honored to care for you and your family. I would encourage you to fill out the contact form to stay in the know about when the practice will be opening.
